Sunday's L.A. Times had an opinion piece by a marketing executive from a big pharmaceutical company expressing his dismay at the way U.S. pharma companies are abusing the most vulnerable of us. A friend of mine who is a pharma PR executive said almost the same thing to me a month or so ago, describing the industry as the dirtiest she has ever encountered. This is a woman who worked for Fleishman-Hillard during the Doug Dowie days.
It's nice to hear this executive "out" his own industry, but really, the column is buried on the bottom corner of the p. 3 of the Opinion section on the day after Christmas. And it really doesn't say much more than we know already.
